Get a Manicure and Register to be a Bone Marrow Match!

Sally Hansen's Color That Cares
Thursday: Cosmetic brand Sally Hansen is attempting to set a Guinness World Record for manicures in one day at Hollywood & Highland's Central Courtyard, while supporting DKMS, a bone marrow donor center. After your complimentary Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure, you can get "swabbed" — as a potential morrow donor for leukemia and blood cancer patients — and take home a bottle of nail polish.

6801 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles. (323) 817-0220. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

This was the Press Release that was in the Los Angeles Times on Sunday, June 6th. I encourage everyone in the Los Angeles area to try to attend. It's for two great causes: Nail Polish and Bone Marrow Donation! And in case you are like me and have no clue where this might be, I googled the location:

It's been a while since I was last able to blog, and I'm not gone, but I thought this needed mentioning first and foremost. If anyone goes, I'd love to see your manicures or any other pictures from this event!

So remember:

What: Sally Hansen Color that Cares and DKMS (free manicure and bone marrow swab!)
When: Thursday, June 10, 2010
Where:
Hollywood & Highland's Central Courtyard (the googled location)
Why: To support Leukemia and other cancers that bone marrow donations help to cure - all while looking stylish with your newly painted nails!

  9. @Jackie S.: I have often wondered that myself! Maybe they were hoping to see how many people would skip work to get their nails painted?

@Jillian: It is cool! I always like when a company I adore does some type of event that helps humanity in some way/shape/form. Thanks for the link!

@Nail Junkie: Hi! Thanks for the complement! I do follow your blog. I hope you update soon, you have such beautiful nails and photos!

@Ashley A.: I understand being the starving college student completely! :) And getting a free manicure for a great cause seems worth it. Congrats on being a donor, too, whether it was for cookies, or anything else!

@'Aline.Vieira §=*: Thank you so much! You're too kind! And your English is great...I feel bad I can't read your blog (I really only know how to speak and read English), but you have beautiful nails. Your skills at nail art are really great!

@Nail Junkie: I wish I had answered this question sooner...thanks for the question, I now know what I should have a future post on! The blue tape I use is called "Painter's Tape" and while you might be able to find it online, I pick mine up at hardware/home-repair/craft stores. The brand I know of is called Scotch by 3m. 3m makes the products, I believe Scotch is the division that makes packaging supplies - specifically tape. Hope that helps!

@Jess: Hi Jess! Thank you. I haven't really been a consistent blogger for the last number of months, so I understand that people would be wary to follow a blog that looks like it may never be updated. But thanks for the vote of support. I'm glad you like the step-by-step directions. I want to make each tutorial as helpful as possible, and your feedback helps!

@ABOP: Hi! Long time no see! I'm not gone, and I'll be posting again really soon! (BTW...you're great with the dotting tool!)
